I first tried pottery when I was gifted a wheel throwing class for Christmas from my mother. To say I wasn’t very good at it is an understatement, and therefore I didn’t really enjoy it at first, but I stuck with it. By the end of that wheel throwing class my skill honestly didn’t improve much, but I did fall in love with a beautiful glaze and how it changed colour as it flowed around the texture of my lumpy projects. That was enough to get me hooked! Not long after, I bought my own wheel so I could practice at home, slowly learning and improving on my own. As you can see, I’ve come a long way! I started gifting my pieces to friends and family, and eventually people starting asking for them.

Fast forward to today, and it’s grown into a small business, with the help of my partner, Tim. He helps me with a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff, answering messages, towing our mobile boutique around, carving, glazing, sanding, and whatever else I need when things get too overwhelming for one person. Together we’ve sold thousands of pieces, all around the world.

My style and brand is inspired by the beaches and wildlife around the Atlantic provinces where Tim and I grew up, and our work reflects that through the use of bright colours and intricate carvings of ocean creatures and flowers. My goal is to romanticize little moments, make mundane things luxurious, and to encourage people to slow down by bringing affordable and beautiful pieces into the spaces where we spend the most time. My favorite things to make are functional art pieces that are meant to be used every day.
